Danielle and Jenn Come to town...

Hello everybody!
I have been caught up in my always wonderful homework lately and the arrival of the most awesome girl's ever!!! P.S. I lost my camera charger somewhere between home and here so I had to wait for a new one. These pictures are all complementary of Danielle and Jenn! I thought St.Patricks day was going to be a bust, plans had gone downhill a bit, but I couldn't let grandma down! So I gave my mates a ring and Matt aka Hawaii and I decided we where going to party it up like we were right in Limerick! So we made it a good night but the next day didn't come so easy. It was also the day that my girl arrived from B.C. Danielle. So I showed up at the airport with sparkling green eye shadow still on :). We spent the day hanging out. Then back to the airport I went, to meet Jenn the next morning when she flew if from Sydney.

So the girls and I went to watch some "footie" with some Oz boys that I met. It was a fun time! I showed Jenn the low prices in Brisbane compared to Sydney. There was fun had by all! Once I finished my oo so wonderful school for the week we jumped on the train to Gold Coast and sent the rest of the week laying on the beach then bed by 9 each night... Bahhahaha if you think we went to bed at 9 when we were exploring one of the most amazing beaches in the world, you obviously don't know anything about my friends and I. We got a great price on 2 pub crawls that they sell on the street side. And took advantage of the great food lol, great drinks and most of all great friends.

Danielle's camera was super awesome for beach shots, because it can just pic up one colour at a time so it made for an amazing photo of a great week with 2 awesome chicks. And of course we thought it was the best thing scene sliced bread so we have lots of fun shots at the beach. We met a lot of great people this week! Hostels are a great way to meet some amazing people from anywhere you can think of! After a long relaxing week ;) we headed back to Brissy to send Jenn back to sydney and get Danielle properly settled in. Then actually took a relaxing week. Kind of! :)

and just when you thought it was studying...

It was Danielle's BIRTHDAY!!! Ya so she has been my amazing house wife since she arrived because she is not yet employed. So on her Birthday I decided to cook up a great feast! I was very yummy and are had some great company to spend it with! I also made some really fun cupcakes for dessert. Then we went ... Lawn bowling!!

This old guy works at the Lawn Bowling club in New Farm and he was the funniest old guy ever! Him explaining the rules was a long conversation with a lot of dirty jokes and sex references involved. So Funny! Don't tell any Lawn Bowlers I said this but it's pretty much bochie ball but no tossing the ball only bowling it. So we had lots of fun with lots of beers. Then everyone was toooo drunk to go to the club to dance, so it was just the birthday girl and I!

So we danced the night away, and spent the rest of the weekend at home watching movies. For Real!! We were in rough shape for a couple days. Now I am actually back at my studies for real and doing well! But I love ya all and Hope the weather back home is getting warmer! xo

My Mini Vaca To Sydney

So two weekends have passed, and I had yet to spend a weekend relaxing, so I figured why start now. It was also Jenn's birthday, and I had made a promise back in Canada that I would cart my but down to Sydney. So Friday morning I got up at about 5 am, and took public transit (which I am now rocking like a city girl, thanks to my ipod app. lol) all the way to the airport, got on the plane at 8am and took and hour flight to Sydney. Once I got there I again hopped on some public transit, which is way better then Brisbane's and made my way to Central Quay, where I was to meet Jenn and go to Manley Beach for the weekend, to rock that Canadian style :). This was the first thing I saw when I hopped off that train.

Then I turned the corner and saw this! I once again had a big smile on my face like I was a 5 year old child in a candy store! It was so beautiful and Opera was right you can see it in pictures, but nothing compares to seeing this with your own eyes!

Then Jenn called and told me she had got off the train! So I turned around and headed to the Fairy to meet Jenn and her friend and my soon to be new friend Mary from France! So we gave a big hug to each other, and got on the fairy to the beach :)! As we were on the fairy we saw soo many more amazing views of the city cruising through the Harbour.

So we got to the beach, it was kind of a cloudy day, but we laid on the beach anyways for the rest of the day. Then we got some "stubbys" or beers and had some drinks in the Hotsel, once again met some really cool people from around the globe then headed to The Shore Club Hotel. This bar was great! Top 40 on the first floor, a sexy chick DJ playing house music on the second and who knows what on the third, the girl DJ got us and we never went any further! It was a great night Jenn and I jamming on the dance floor lovin' life! You know the usual only in AUSTRALIA what what lol. The next day it was all beach, and ooo boy that was a mistake because I was feeling that one for a solid week :(. Learned my lesson apply and re-apply that sunscreen until your as dark as Jenn then it does not matter. So this is the beach where I got my licking :( and then you can walk along the board walk and get to shelly beach on the far side. All just beautiful and I could lay there forever, if I had the right amount of sunscreen lol.

Then Saturday night we were back at it surprise surprise, yet I was not feeling so well, I could hardly move and I had some mild sun stroke, almost passed out in the bar lineup, so from that point on it was all water for this girl, the next day we woke up and thank God the sun was not out because I think I would have not gone out side at all. I was quite sore :(, we got a fairy home at about 2. On our way back we saw something that reminded us of home a little bit, our own Potter's beach in Sydney.

Once we got back, it was straight home for us. We got there and I met Jenn's Aus family, beautiful house, cute kids! Then it was shower time and straight back into the city for Jenn's Birthday Dinner. Seeing as Jenn and I both have a love for AMAZING food and wine, her boyfriend got her a very nice gift for dinner for two and I was the lucky one to accompany her :) So we walked down to Darling Harbour. And It was beautiful! I saw the tribute to the 2010 Olympics!

We finally stumbled upon the restaurant that Jenn had chosen for here dinner and the view was spectacular!

The restaurants name was Olivo, which was cute because we worked at Olivea together :) and of course they brought out olives for us, and Jenn and I both looked at each other in disgust. Then out of no where our crazy adventurous Aussie selves came out of no where and we both started eating them and shockingly like them, who would thunk! (look how many we ate)

So at this point we were getting crappy service because we had a gift certificate, Not what a professional server would do by all means! But I guess they don't know how to be professional! We still made the best out of the situation! My birthday gift idea had been taken away by Jenn's sly boyfriend so I had to come up with a good present last minute! So my solution, a bottle of wine and a taxi! hahaha but not just any taxi a water taxi from Darling Harbour to Sydney Harbour with all of the city lights! lets just say that taxi ride would have got any guy laid! Remember that boys if you ever have the chance!

From this point on there are know words to describe these pictures other then OMG you should have been there!!! PS it was really hard to get a clear picture of the lights with the boat a rocking, and Harper was not the captain haha. But you get the point! This little boat ride did make me feel at home on the river only the view was just a little bit different!

To say the least, this was the perfect end to my weekend trip to sydney! Happy birthday Jenn and Hello one of the most memorable experiences i'll have in Australia

First and Formost

Hello My Friends,

I am sorry this has taken soo long to get up and running. I am all over the place trying to move across the world, trying to start school, trying to set up internet in this country is like pulling teeth! To say the least I have ran into some minor bumps. Yet here I am ready to rock and show you what I have seen thus far on my trip! Also just to point out, I am a Graphic Designer attending school in Brisbane Australia, and that is also the reason why my spelling is not perfect! We got here early Monday morning on the 7th of Feb.! Right away started the climb up the Range, or as we would call it the mountain! We were off to Toowoomba to spend our first week getting organized.

Once we made it up the mountain we took it pretty easy for the first week saw couple old historic Buildings, that were not effected by the floods, which was really great because they are beautiful!

After we spent a solid week catching up on sleep, relaxing by the pool and hanging out with my new friend Spencer's family, we realized Aussie has something that we only hear about in the movies and back in the day, Ice Cream trucks. Heck ya!! They show up everyday and sell you boxes of ice cream, mind you, you need it when it's about 35 out everyday.

Once we had caught up on our sleep, we were headed to the city to find a home for Spencer, Danielle and myself(Danielle who is not flying in till the 18th of March). So Spencer and I decided to take another first time experience and make the best of it. We were going to stay in a Hostel for a week :). The Hostel was great, met lots of great people who we are still hanging out with a lot, and we like to call ourselves the UN when we go out together because we are all from different parts of the world. It's great I am not only getting to know Aussies, but other cultures as well.

After we went apt. hunting and figured we had landed the one we wanted, we just had to sit and wait. So to pass the time we decided to go to the Lone Pine Kola Sanctuary. Where of course I got to hold a Kola and feed and Kangaroo. Both kinda scary experiences, yet very exciting and fun! I had the biggest smile on my face all day like a 5 year old child! It was great!

After our week at the Hostel we ventured back up the range to Toowoomba, For James and Jen's Engagement party (Spencer's Cousins) For the weekend. It was a great party and Spencer's family is great, they have helped us out so much and also shown us a good time :) Prime Example of the fun we have been having with the family, Rhi has loved to bring us out on the town and show us a good time.

Then was the big day, Moving Day! We got to move in our new crib! It's great and big and perfect for the three of us! It's on a quite little street that has a dead end to a park, so not a lot of traffic, and it's really safe. There is a father and son who live upstairs, which also makes us feel a lot safer!
