So two weekends have passed, and I had yet to spend a weekend relaxing, so I figured why start now. It was also Jenn's birthday, and I had made a promise back in Canada that I would cart my but down to Sydney. So Friday morning I got up at about 5 am, and took public transit (which I am now rocking like a city girl, thanks to my ipod app. lol) all the way to the airport, got on the plane at 8am and took and hour flight to Sydney. Once I got there I again hopped on some public transit, which is way better then Brisbane's and made my way to Central Quay, where I was to meet Jenn and go to Manley Beach for the weekend, to rock that Canadian style :). This was the first thing I saw when I hopped off that train.
Then I turned the corner and saw this! I once again had a big smile on my face like I was a 5 year old child in a candy store! It was so beautiful and Opera was right you can see it in pictures, but nothing compares to seeing this with your own eyes!
Then Jenn called and told me she had got off the train! So I turned around and headed to the Fairy to meet Jenn and her friend and my soon to be new friend Mary from France! So we gave a big hug to each other, and got on the fairy to the beach :)! As we were on the fairy we saw soo many more amazing views of the city cruising through the Harbour.

So we got to the beach, it was kind of a cloudy day, but we laid on the beach anyways for the rest of the day. Then we got some "stubbys" or beers and had some drinks in the Hotsel, once again met some really cool people from around the globe then headed to The Shore Club Hotel. This bar was great! Top 40 on the first floor, a sexy chick DJ playing house music on the second and who knows what on the third, the girl DJ got us and we never went any further! It was a great night Jenn and I jamming on the dance floor lovin' life! You know the usual only in AUSTRALIA what what lol. The next day it was all beach, and ooo boy that was a mistake because I was feeling that one for a solid week :(. Learned my lesson apply and re-apply that sunscreen until your as dark as Jenn then it does not matter. So this is the beach where I got my licking :( and then you can walk along the board walk and get to shelly beach on the far side. All just beautiful and I could lay there forever, if I had the right amount of sunscreen lol.

Then Saturday night we were back at it surprise surprise, yet I was not feeling so well, I could hardly move and I had some mild sun stroke, almost passed out in the bar lineup, so from that point on it was all water for this girl, the next day we woke up and thank God the sun was not out because I think I would have not gone out side at all. I was quite sore :(, we got a fairy home at about 2. On our way back we saw something that reminded us of home a little bit, our own Potter's beach in Sydney.
Once we got back, it was straight home for us. We got there and I met Jenn's Aus family, beautiful house, cute kids! Then it was shower time and straight back into the city for Jenn's Birthday Dinner. Seeing as Jenn and I both have a love for AMAZING food and wine, her boyfriend got her a very nice gift for dinner for two and I was the lucky one to accompany her :) So we walked down to Darling Harbour. And It was beautiful! I saw the tribute to the 2010 Olympics!
We finally stumbled upon the restaurant that Jenn had chosen for here dinner and the view was spectacular!
The restaurants name was Olivo, which was cute because we worked at Olivea together :) and of course they brought out olives for us, and Jenn and I both looked at each other in disgust. Then out of no where our crazy adventurous Aussie selves came out of no where and we both started eating them and shockingly like them, who would thunk! (look how many we ate)
So at this point we were getting crappy service because we had a gift certificate, Not what a professional server would do by all means! But I guess they don't know how to be professional! We still made the best out of the situation! My birthday gift idea had been taken away by Jenn's sly boyfriend so I had to come up with a good present last minute! So my solution, a bottle of wine and a taxi! hahaha but not just any taxi a water taxi from Darling Harbour to Sydney Harbour with all of the city lights! lets just say that taxi ride would have got any guy laid! Remember that boys if you ever have the chance!
From this point on there are know words to describe these pictures other then OMG you should have been there!!! PS it was really hard to get a clear picture of the lights with the boat a rocking, and Harper was not the captain haha. But you get the point! This little boat ride did make me feel at home on the river only the view was just a little bit different!
To say the least, this was the perfect end to my weekend trip to sydney! Happy birthday Jenn and Hello one of the most memorable experiences i'll have in Australia
